Film Cast Profit Share
Our film is taking an equitable and innovative approach to profit sharing.
We are creating a new model for low budget documentary filmmaking that rewards people who have contributed to the film and allows them to share in the success of the film.
What that means is any profit that comes from the film will be be shared between the production company, investors, and you, the cast. More specifically, any profits that the film makes will be split with 33% going to the production company, 33% to the investors, and 34% to the cast.
Due to the restricted budget of this film production, immediate compensation for the cast is not possible. However, cast members who appear in the film will be compensated through equity in the film's profits. The more financially success the film is, the more you will get compensated. Think of it like being paid residuals or royalties.
Your equity in the profit share will be determined by the percentage in which your image/voice is used in the final film relative to other cast members.
Example
-The total duration of character time in the final film is 100 minutes
-Of those 100 minutes you are featured for 20 minutes which is equal to 20%
-Therefore, your entitled to a 20% equity within the Cast's 34% stake in the total profit share.Â
- Which means you would receive 6.8% of total profits from the film.
-So if the film were to generate $200,000 in profits, you would receive a return of $13,600!
Please note that the above example represents a profitable outcome, however, the commercial success of the film is not guaranteed and neither is your compensation.
Any profits that the film makes will be distributed annually in perpetuity.
